Poetry Walk Guided Walking Tours

Community Events

About this event

The City of San Luis Obispo’s Public Art Program, in partnership with SLO County Arts and the 2025-2026 SLO County Poet Laureate, Caleb Nichols, created the Poetry Walk program to celebrate local voices through original short-form poetry displayed in public spaces throughout the community. For its inaugural year, the program invited writers and poets of all experience levels from across San Luis Obispo County to respond to the theme “Place and Belonging,” exploring the landscapes, memories, histories, and lived experiences that foster connection and community. Explore the entirety of the Poetry Walk with a guided 2.2 mile (mostly flat) walk through the city stopping to read and discuss each of the program’s 11 poems.

Poet Daniel Bulone will join.
